Itinerary
Day 1 : Nuwara Eliya
We move toward mountains higher and higher along the hairpin road via Kandy while visiting highlights of Kandy city, until we reach Nuwara Eliya city, known as Little England from the days when the British used to retreat here to escape the scorching heat of the lowlands. Nuwara Eliya is situated at an altitude of 6,128ft. We visit Ramboda falls hotel which is supposed to be the best spot adjacent to Ramboda falls to taste a buffet while enjoying a fascinating view of the falls and nature. Proceeding our journey, we approach a tea factory. In the factory, you might have an excursion to gain some knowledge about tea manufacturing process. Also, you will have an opportunity to taste & buy a variety of tea products. Nuwara Eliya will be your last destination of the day where you will accommodate in a lovely place for the night.
Day 2 : Horton Plains
In the morning you will head to Horton Plains National Park, a UNESCO world heritage site which consists of ecosystems such as Montane evergreen forests, grasslands, marshy lands and aquatic ecosystem and also an endemic flora and fauna. You will hike in Horton Plains to visit the World’s End where the plateau comes to a sudden end, a stunning escarpment that plunges 880m. You will be back to Negombo / Colombo Airport via Ratnapura the famous world class gem mining city of Sri Lanka. Upon time availability you may get a chance to visit a gem mine or famous Bopath Falls.
