Day 1: Negombo to Kalpitiya

  • The tour commences from the coastal town of Negombo, a popular beach destination.
  • Take your time to explore the beautiful beaches and indulge in fresh seafood before hitting the road.
  • The ride to Kalpitiya is along the coast, offering stunning views of the Indian Ocean.
  • Kalpitiya is a famous wildlife destination known for its dolphin and whale watching tours. You can also enjoy kitesurfing, lagoon safaris, and exploring the surrounding mangroves.

Day 2: Kalpitiya to Sigiriya

  • Today’s journey takes you inland, passing through coconut plantations and quaint villages.
  • En route, consider a stop at the Wilpattu National Park, a wildlife sanctuary known for its leopards, sloth bears, and elephants.
  • Sigiriya, also known as the Lion Rock, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a must-visit for any Sri Lanka itinerary. Climb the ancient rock fortress to witness the breathtaking views and explore the ruins of a 5th-century palace complex.

Day 3: Sigiriya to Polonnaruwa

  • This short ride allows you to explore the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, another UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  • The city was the capital of Sri Lanka from the 11th to 13th centuries and is filled with fascinating ruins of palaces, temples, and statues.
  • Don’t miss the Gal Vihara with its beautifully carved rock statues of Buddha.

Day 4: Polonnaruwa to Trincomalee

  • Today’s ride takes you to the eastern coast of Sri Lanka.
  • Trincomalee is a beautiful port city with a long and rich history. Explore the Trincomalee Fort, Koneswaram Temple, Pigeons island resort and the stunning beaches.

Day 5: Trincomalee to Pasikuda Beach

  • Relax and unwind on the pristine beaches of Pasikuda.
  • Enjoy water sports activities like jet skiing, windsurfing, and diving. The beaches are known for their calm waters and soft white sand.

Day 6: Pasikuda Beach to Dambana tribe village

  • Head towards the hills and experience a unique cultural immersion at a village inhabited by the indigenous Vedda people.
  • Learn about their way of life, traditions, and deep connection with nature.

Day 7: Dambana tribe village to Kandy

  • Enjoy a scenic ride through the central highlands, reaching the historic city of Kandy, Sri Lanka’s cultural capital.
  • Kandy is home to the sacred Temple of the Tooth, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that houses Sri Lanka’s most revered relic – a tooth of the Buddha.

Day 8: Kandy - Rest Day

  • Take a well-deserved break to explore Kandy at your own pace. Visit the Royal Botanical Gardens, witness a traditional Kandyan dance performance, or simply wander through the bustling markets.

Day 9: Kandy to Nuwara Eliya

  • Ascend the mountains towards Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka’s hill country.
  • Nuwara Eliya is known for its cool climate, colonial-era architecture, and scenic tea plantations. Enjoy a scenic train ride (optional) or a visit to a tea factory.

Day 10: Nuwara Eliya to Ella

  • The ride to Ella is one of the most scenic stretches of the entire tour, offering breathtaking views of rolling hills, lush greenery, and cascading waterfalls. We will hike through Horton’s plains national park to gain knowledge about biodiversity.

Day 11: Ella to Yala National Park

  • Today’s ride takes you south towards Yala National Park, Sri Lanka’s second-largest national park.
  • Yala is renowned for its diverse wildlife, including elephants, leopards, sloth bears, and a large variety of birdlife. Embark on an exciting jeep safari to explore the park and witness its wonders.

Day 12: Yala to Udawalawe National Park

  • Travel further south to Udawalawe National Park, famous for its elephant population. Here, you can witness large herds of elephants roaming freely and participate in an elephant watching jeep safari or a responsible ethical elephant encounter program.

Day 13: Udawalawe to Mirissa

  • Head south to the beautiful beaches of Mirissa, a popular tourist destination known for whale watching tours. Relax on the beach, enjoy water sports activities, or simply soak up the sun.

Day 14: Mirissa - Rest Day

  • Take another well-deserved rest day to explore Mirissa and its surroundings. You can go whale watching, visit the nearby Weligama Bay for surfing lessons, or simply relax on the beach.

Day 15: Mirissa to Sinharaja Rainforest

  • Trade the beaches for the lush greenery of Sinharaja Rainforest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the rainforest on a guided trek, encounter a variety of endemic flora and fauna, and witness the beauty of this unique ecosystem.

Day 16: Sinharaja Rainforest to Kitulgala

  • Today’s ride takes you towards Kitulgala, a scenic town known for its white-water rafting adventures on the Kelani River. Depending on your interests, you can either enjoy the thrill of rafting or explore the surrounding hills and waterfalls.

Day 17: Kitulgala to Negombo

  • The final leg of the journey takes you back to Negombo, marking the successful completion of your 18-day Sri Lanka motorbike adventure. Enjoy a celebratory dinner and reminisce about the amazing experiences you had throughout the tour
